At Girls Mean Business, we believe that empowering young women with the tools, confidence, and mindset to succeed is key to shaping a more equitable future. Our programmes introduce girls to entrepreneurship in a fun, supportive environment where creativity, leadership, and financial literacy thrive. By fostering real-world skills and encouraging bold ideas, we’re helping to grow the next generation of female changemakers—young women who are ready to lead, innovate, and build businesses that matter.

GMB is proudly supported by the Aotearoa Centre for Enterprising Women as its flagship outreach programme.

GMB also gratefully acknowledges Dame Theresa Gattung for her generous support and encouragement.

~ Stacey Yates, Te Atatū Intermediate teacher

“You presented clearly and on the level of the age group. Your words were real and relevant. You engaged with the girls, reassured them, interacted with them, prompted them when necessary without putting the answers in their mouths. You encouraged their responses and the level of their confidence and engagement literally grew in front of our eyes. I loved the way you circulated the room and groups so the girls felt like they had the support they needed.”

~ Jo McIntyre-Brown, Manurewa Intermediate teacher

“Girls Mean Business is a fantastic programme, run by a group of wonderful facilitators who are great role models for the students.  We, at Manurewa Intermediate School, have run the programme now several times and each time the girls learn something new and are able to build their skills base.  The workshops include financial literacy and values work as well as the ins and outs of planning, setting up and running a business. The days are interactive and fun and allow the students to connect with their cultural worldviews and to design meaningful and creative businesses. Our girls have left each day feeling empowered and positive about the impact they are able to have in the world, whatever age they are at.”
